Where does it come from and why is it a good idea? Pruunvetikaid kasvatatakse tavaliselt veesambasse riputatavatel p\u00fcstliinidel v\u00f5i v\u00f5rkudel. Neid kasutatakse toiduainetes, kosmeetikatoodetes, v\u00e4etistes, loomas\u00f6\u00f6das ja biok\u00fctustes. Pruunvetikad sisaldavad palju vitamiine ja mineraalaineid, mis teeb nendest v\u00e4\u00e4rtusliku toidulisandi.\n\nEesti rannikumere soolsus on paraku liiga v\u00e4ike, mist\u00f5ttu enamik vesiviljeluseks sobivaid pruunvetikaid siin ei kasva. \u00dcheks v\u00f5imalikuks kandidaadiks v\u00f5ib siiski pidada meie kohalikku liiki p\u00f5isadrut (Fucus vesiculosus).<\/p>\n<h4>\n\t\t\tPunavetikad\t<\/h4>\n\t<p>Olulisemad kultiveeritavad punavetikaliigid on k\u00e4mmalpalmaaria (Palmaria palmata, dulse), porf\u00fc\u00fcra (Porphyra, nori) ja karrageenivetikas (Chondrus crispus). Sarnaselt pruunvetikatega kasvatatakse ka punavetikaid k\u00f6itel v\u00f5i v\u00f5rkudel, kuid nad asetatakse neile sobivate valgustingimuste saavutamiseks pruunvetikatest s\u00fcgavamale. Punavetikaid kasutatakse toidus, karrageeni (paksendusaine) tootmisel, kosmeetikatoodetes ja ravimites.\nEesti rannikumeres v\u00f5iks viljeleda agarikku (Furcellaria lumbricalis), kuid seni pole selle liigi jaoks sobivat kasvatustehnoloogiat v\u00e4lja t\u00f6\u00f6tatud.<\/p>\n<h4>\n\t\t\tRohevetikad\t<\/h4>\n\t<p>Common types include Ulva lactuca (sea lettuce) and Codium fragile (dead man&#8217;s fingers). Green algae are used in salads, soups, and other culinary dishes. Karbid filtreerivad palju vett, eemaldades seel\u00e4bi veesambast tahkeid osakesi ja parandades vee kvaliteeti. Samuti kiirendavad nad toitainete ringlust ja pakuvad elupaiku teistele mereorganismidele. Austreid kultiveeritakse v\u00f5rkpuurides, salvedes v\u00f5i veesambas olevatel k\u00f6iejadadel ning neid hinnatakse k\u00f5rgelt nende kulinaarse kasutuse t\u00f5ttu.
